ABOUT THE ARTIST

My first memory of making art was drawing on the bathroom tile with Crayola bathtub crayons on my second birthday. My love of art felt contagious throughout childhood, pushing me toward constant experimentation and exploration.

Nurtured by the many artistic adults in my life — especially my beloved art tutor, Mrs. Wunsch — my passion continued to grow as I learned how to work with a wide range of mediums and techniques.

If you had asked me to describe myself when I was 12, I would have instantly said “I’m an artist.” but one day, I woke up and realized that I couldn’t even remember the last time I had picked up a paint brush.

Now an attorney, working in a field where second-hand trauma feels like a given and self care feels like a luxury, my days (and sometimes nights) are spent working on difficult and often graphic cases. I realized that what I needed more than anything was to reconnect with my love of art to regain a sense of joy and whimsy.

I fell quickly and deeply in love with printmaking, and hope to share a little piece of the joy it had brought me with you.

ABOUT THE ART

Elm Tree Prints are hand-drawn, hand-transferred, hand-carved, and hand-printed. Each individual print is a unique, original piece of art.

In the age where generative AI can seemingly pull shiny perfect images out of thin air, making a print by hand from start to finish is a deliberate choice to slow down, work with tangible materials, and lean into the art of imperfection. In this way, each print is a celebration of what makes us human.
